Brendan Schwartz delivered an insightful look on the Club Starter Kit at the most recent meeting of the Atlanta VB .Net Study Group on October 18th at DeVry in Alpharetta. In addition to the out of the box functionality, Brendan has extended the Starter Kit with the following features:
1) Extended Role Management - there is an Admin page to add/remove roles.
2) Theme managment - a club site can choose one of any number of themes that are stored in a database.
3) Web Part zones - to add web parts.
4) Admin tab - to add/remove other features.
5) All .aspx changes were modified to use code behind files.
6) Master page changes - the WebPartManager is the first element to appear.
7) There is a dropdown list to select a particular web part view.

After Brendan's presentation we discussed .Net University and the slides and demo code that is available to download. I will be presenting on the topic of WF (Windows Workflow Foundation) at the next AVBSG meeting.
