SRA University SilverLight Course Week 3

I presented week 3 material of my SRA-University SilverLight course this week. We discsussed the Quickstart material that deals with media, animation, mouse events, and scripting. I demonstrated some additional applications from the SilverLight.net community gallery, and discussed how to implement drag and drop. We also discussed that Linux support for SilverLight has recently been announced. This is part of the mono project and is known as project Moonlight. The goals of mono-based support for SilverLight are the following:

  • To run Silverlight applications on Linux.
  • To provide a Linux SDK to build Silverlight applications.
  • To reuse the Silverlight engine we have built for desktop applications.
  • My week 3 class slides can be downloaded here . Next week we will look at sample controls and downloading content on demand. See you then!
